Dehradun district magistrate and district election officer Ashish Chauhan has appealed to all eligible voters to submit their enumeration forms by July 7 under the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign with nearly two lakh voters not having submitted these forms yet. The district administration has warned that voters who do not complete the verification process on time may face problems in getting their names included in the electoral roll.
According to the district administration, Dehradun has 13.76 lakh registered voters. So far, more than 11.86 lakh voters have submitted their enumeration forms and 99.98 per cent of these forms have already been digitised. However, 1,90,588 voters are yet to complete the process. Chauhan urged these voters to contact their booth level officers (BLOs) immediately and submit their forms before the deadline. He said the SIR exercise is being carried out to make the voter list accurate, updated and free from errors.
The administration has also advised people who are not available at home during the day to use the ECINet application or the ‘Book a Call with BLO’ facility to complete the process. Voters in Uttarakhand can also check their own names or the names of their parents or grandparents in the 2003 electoral roll through the chief electoral officer’s website. With only three days left before the deadline, Chauhan appealed to all eligible citizens not to wait until the last moment and to complete the verification process to protect their right to vote.
