Hearing of 3,300 SIR notices completed in Uttarkashi

With the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls- conducted under direction of the Election Commission of India- underway, the Uttarkashi district administration said that the hearing of 3,300 cases out of 63,717  notices sent have been completed. Notably,  BLOs and election personnel are engaged in the drive at 558 polling stations spread across the three Assembly constituencies of the district.

So far, notices have been distributed to 54,933 voters against 63,717 notices to be sent. Of them, 16,969 notices were distributed out of 22,426 notices to be sent in Purola Assembly constituency and hearing of 1,732 cases has been completed. In Yamunotri Assembly constituency, 18,041 notices have been distributed against 19,641 notices to be sent and 1,091 cases have been disposed of through hearing. In Gangotri Assembly constituency, 19,923 notices have been distributed against 21,650 notices to be sent and hearing of 477 cases has been completed. Thus, hearing of a total of 3,300 notices has been completed in all three Assembly constituencies.

The district election officer, Prashant Arya directed all officials concerned to ensure transparent and fair disposal of every claim and objection.

The district administration has appealed to the citizens that if they have received any notice related to claim or objection, they should cooperate in the process by appearing before the concerned officer on the scheduled date and time with the necessary documents, so that the special intensive review programme can be completed timely and successfully.
