The State government has announced the names of 13 women recipients of the Tilu Rauteli State Women Power Award and 35 Anganwadi workers for the State-level award for 2025-26. The honours will be presented at a State-level ceremony in Dehradun on August 8 in the presence of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.

According to the list released by the Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) department, one woman from each of the 13 districts of the State has been selected for the Tilu Rauteli Award. Additionally, 35 outstanding Anganwadi workers from various districts will receive the State Level Anganwadi Worker Award.

WECD minister Rekha Arya stated that the Tilu Rauteli State award is dedicated to the women of Uttarakhand who have forged a new identity in society through struggle, courage and dedication. She added that this year’s recipients have made notable contributions in fields such as culture, sports, scientific research, environmental protection, agriculture, self-employment, social service, women’s empowerment and the welfare of individuals with disabilities.

“The government’s goal is to highlight the achievements of such women so that their inspiring journeys can motivate the next generation and encourage other women to move forward,” she said. The minister further informed that State-level awards for Anganwadi workers will also be presented on this occasion. She said that Anganwadi workers are the government’s strongest link in critical tasks such as maternal and child health, nutrition, immunisation, early education and women’s awareness. It is the government’s responsibility to honour their dedication and outstanding service, Arya added.
