Dehradun police have registered another case against Urmila Sanawar who claims to be the second wife for former Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Suresh Rathore over allegedly objectionable comments on social media. The case was registered at Patelnagar police station following a complaint by a BJP Mahila Morcha leader who alleged that comments were made against her, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and her 17-year-old daughter.

The complainant told police that she had used the CM’s photograph as her profile picture on social media. She alleged that on September 10, Sanawar made objectionable comments about the photograph on WhatsApp and Facebook. As per the complaint, a supporter of Sanawar later made objectionable comments involving the complainant’s 17-year-old daughter on Facebook. She further claimed that one of her friends was contacted and threatened with harm to her and her children.

The Patelnagar police station in-charge Naresh Rathore said a case had been registered under various sections, including provisions of the Information Technology Act. Police are investigating the social media posts, threats and other allegations. Police said Sanawar has faced cases earlier in separate matters at Nehru Colony, Dalanwala, Jwalapur and Bahadrabad police stations.
