State to discontinue DDAs, announces CM

Chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat announced on Wednesday that district development authorities (DDAs) will be discontinued in the state. Talking to media persons in Almora on Wednesday, the CM said that considering the problems related to district development authorities, these have been discontinued and the government order to this effect will be issued soon. He said that the decision was taken considering the complaints received from the public.

It will be recalled that district development authorities were meant to facilitate planned development and construction activities in the state especially the mountainous regions. However, the feedback received from the public was more about corruption and other problems in these authorities.
