Dhasmana says Covid- 19 pandemic has gone out of control in the state

Terming the stance of the state government during Kumbh in Haridwar when lakhs of people from high Covid load states were allowed to enter the state as the reason for the present situation of Covid-19 in Uttarakhand, the Congress party has said that pandemic is going out of control in the state. The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress Surya Kant Dhasmana said that people were allowed without any restriction during Kumbh. He said that everyone was aware that a second wave of the pandemic would strike but the state government remained ill prepared to deal with it. Dhasmana who also is in charge of the Covid Control room of the party said that the calls of the people wanting beds for their near and dear one coming to the control room present a horrific picture of the pandemic. He said that the officials of all the hospitals told him that beds are not available in their hospitals. Similarly the injection Remdesivir and oxygen supplies are affected.

“ I talked to DG Health services of state and ACMO of Dehradun; they told me that Injection Remdesivir is not available and the department is trying to contact the company for supply. I have never felt so helpless in my life. People are pleading for their lives and we are helpless,’’ he said.

Dhasmana said that the government should set up an emergency hospital with oxygen support so that the people are prevented from dying.
