The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Chamoli district, Shweta Choubey flagged off four new patrol vehicles for highway patrolling with the aim to prevent crimes and provide immediate assistance during accidents. She informed that these patrol vehicles are equipped with advanced technology which will assist in taking quick actions during emergency situations including crimes and road accidents. Such initiatives will help to strengthen the professional policing and provide immediate and effective assistance to people injured in road accidents in the district. The SP flagged off the vehicles at Police Ground in Gopeshwar to their designated routes. She informed that the patrol vehicles will be available 24 hours a day for the convenience of the public. She said that during the rise of tourist season in the district, these vehicles will be specially focussed on the national highways routes every day and night to ensure smooth flow of traffic for passengers and tackle any emergency situation with quick response which will improve the response time of police too.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DySP) of Chamoli, Dhan Singh Tomar, DySP (Traffic) Natasha Singh, inspector Ravikant Semwal and traffic inspector Praveen Alok were also present among other police officials.
