Asleep on public concerns in Assembly, Congress indulging in political drama on roads: BJP

PIONEEREDGE NEWS SERVICE | Dehradun

Terming the Congress protest in Dehradun a flop, the Bharatiya Janata Party stated that the opposition leaders sleep in the Assembly when it comes to raising public concerns and then come out on the roads to compete for becoming the Pradesh Congress Committee president. The BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that the Congress protest was a response to being repeatedly rejected by the public. The opposition is finding it impossible to digest the development achieved in the State, historic decisions and the positive image of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, he claimed.

Bhatt told the media that the people have also rejected the Congress for lacking issues and an ideology, adding that this was visible in the absence of the general public amidst the Congress leaders who thronged the protest. This was nothing more than an unsuccessful attempt to dupe the public with false allegations of vote theft and governmental failure in disaster and maintaining the law and order.

The people of Uttarakhand saw the Congress leaders sleeping in the Vidhan Sabha instead of providing relief to the disaster victims, Bhatt said. “The Congress ran a government with criminals and does not have the moral right to raise questions on the law and order situation. Our government is answerable to the public and it is strictly implementing its policy of zero tolerance for crime in the State.  Strict action has been taken in all cases of crime that have come to light irrespective of the stature of the accused.

The real problem of the Congress is the successful tenure of the BJP governments during the past eight years, especially the historic and courageous decisions taken by Dhami. Their leaders are unable to understand how the State is progressing at a brisk pace under the BJP for eight consecutive years,” the BJP State president said.
