BJP accuses Rawat of double standards, lack of trust in law

Responding to a protest staged by Congress leader and former chief minister Harish Rawat near its State office, the Bharatiya Janata Party opined that he had displayed a lack of trust in the law while staging a demonstration displaying double standards and political motivation.

The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that Rawat had submitted an official complaint to a police a day ago and expressed his faith in the law while on the next day, he marched to the BJP State headquarters. This is not a coincidence but part of a well thought out strategy, he said.

He said, “The intentions of the Congress can be understood considering that on the one hand, Rawat stages a demonstration claiming to be a victim while on the other hand his supporters raise slogans in support of an AI-generated video. The Congress is displaying double standards by protesting in its case while simultaneously targeting the BJP in a similar case, which is not acceptable,” Chauhan said.

The BJP State media in-charge said that the party has already clarified that it had not made the video Rawat is protesting against. He said that the BJP would remove such videos from its social media pages if the Congress does the same when it comes to the videos it has made against the BJP. Retirating that the BJP has nothing to do with the video Rawat is objecting to, Chauhan claimed that the former CM is targeting the BJP because he considers it a hurdle in the way of his appeasement politics. The BJP will respond legally to the complaint lodged in the police. Though the BJP is an ideological opponent of the Congress, it opposes its rivals in a democratic manner, Chauhan claimed.
