CM pays homage to Vajpayee, Garhwali on birth anniversary

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami paid tributes to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Veer Chandra Singh Garhwali on their birth anniversaries on Thursday.
The CM offered floral tributes to the portrait of Vajpayee at the CM camp office in the morning. He said that Vajpayee was a skilled administrator, a powerful orator and a visionary leader who provided a new direction to nation-building. His entire life was dedicated to good governance, sensitivity and inclusive development. He prioritised public interest by making politics a medium for public service. The CM said that Vajpayee’s thoughts will always remain a source of inspiration for the countrymen. Drawing inspiration from his work ethic, the State government is committed to realising the vision of a developed Uttarakhand through transparent administration, prompt decisions and public-friendly policies, he said.
Paying tributes to Garhwali, the hero of the Peshawar incident, Dhami said that by refusing to fire on the unarmed people in Peshawar, Garhwali displayed courage, patriotism and moral strength. He said that the Peshawar incident is an important episode in the freedom struggle of India and gave it a new direction.
