The Dehradun district administration has stepped up efforts to ensure that every eligible citizen is included in the electoral roll as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 campaign. In a meeting on Monday with recognised national and state-based political parties, Dehradun district magistrate Ashish Chauhan said that preparing an accurate and updated voters’ list is essential for strengthening democracy.

As per the data, out of total 13, 76, 813 registered voters in Dehradun, forms have already been distributed to 13, 55,948 voters, covering 98.48 per cent of the electorate. So far, 10, 98,179 forms have been digitised, while work on the remaining forms is in progress. Only 1,36,149 voters have yet to submit their forms.

DM Chauhan stressed that the campaign should be completed in a transparent, fair and time-bound manner with the active support of political parties, booth level officers (BLOs) and booth level agents (BLAs). He urged political parties to encourage voters to submit their enumeration forms on time so that no eligible voter is left out of the electoral roll.

Officials informed the meeting that July 1 has been fixed as the qualifying date for the revision exercise. BLOs are visiting households across the district to distribute and collect enumeration forms before digitising the data.

The district administration said that BLOs will verify cases where forms have not been received and prepare separate lists of absent, shifted, deceased or duplicate voters. These lists will be made public and shared with political parties.

Chauhan appealed to all stakeholders to work together to ensure every eligible voter is included in the electoral rolls and the election process remains fair, transparent and credible.
