GM, NER inspects Lalkuan under Amrit Bharat Station Yojana

The general manager of North Eastern Railway, Uday Borwankar conducted a comprehensive safety inspection of Lalkuan railway station, including the station yard, running room, coach care centre and other railway facilities on Friday. He was accompanied by the divisional railway manager, Izzatnagar, Veena Sinha and additional divisional railway manager Manoj Kumar.
During the inspection, the GM reviewed the kitchen, residential rooms and other amenities at the running room. He interacted with staff, sought feedback on the quality of food and available facilities and listened to their suggestions and concerns. He also examined the maintenance of official records and documents.
At the coach care centre, Borwankar inspected modern technical equipment and reviewed maintenance practices. Stressing the importance of strict adherence to safety standards, he instructed supervisors and employees to perform their duties with utmost vigilance and dedication. Appreciating the excellent work of the staff, he announced a cash award of Rs 15,000 for the employees of the running room and the coaching depot/carriage & wagon section.
The GM also reviewed the progress of Amrit Bharat Station Scheme redevelopment works at Lalkuan railway station.
The Railway officials informed that the redevelopment of Lalkuan station is nearing completion. The project includes modern waiting halls, modular toilets, upgraded station façade, extended platforms, a GRP post, a reservation building, an improved circulating area, separate entry and exit gates, a modern drainage system, enhanced lighting, advanced signage and improved parking facilities.
Special attention has been given to accessibility for differently-abled passengers through tactile pathways, accessible ticket counters, ramps, drinking water facilities, dedicated toilets, parking and assistance booths. Construction of a new foot over bridge is progressing rapidly, while lifts and escalators have also been approved to provide passengers with a safer, more convenient and modern travel experience.
