Responding to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s post on X regarding retired brigadier Mukesh Joshi’s death in a firing incident in Dehradun, the Bharatiya Janata Party has opined that it is part of a planned disinformation campaign of the Congress. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the Congress is playing the politics of opposition on the subject of the law and order situation in order to divert attention from the problem it is facing due to factionalism.

“The people are suffering from the pathetic law and order situation in various Congress-governed States but Rahul Gandhi is silent on that while making sure to comment on the rare incidents that take place in Uttarakhand. The Congress has felt the need to divert attention from the infighting occurring due to the four-headed leadership in the party in Uttarakhand. The Congress is commenting on the BJP but stands exposed. Party veteran and former chief minister Harish Rawat is miffed and his supporters are threatening the party high command.

Another senior party leader has also said that it is not acceptable to ignorem Rawat. Further, a section of the party is dissatisfied with importance being accorded to those from other parties who joined the Congress,” Chauhan said.He further said that the swift action taken by the police in the incidents so far have made it clear that it is tough for the guilty to escape after committing any crime. In the death of the retired brigadier in Johri, the accused have been caught and in most of the cases so far the accused have been caught within 24 hours, he claimed.
