A job fraud case has come to light in Dehradun where a student from Rudraprayag alleged that he and his two friends had been defrauded of Rs 27 lakh on the pretext of getting government jobs in the Department of Posts. As per the complaint they filed, the accused claimed that they could arrange government jobs for them if they were ready to pay. Trusting on them, the student and his two friends had paid the amount demanded, the complaint said.
According to the complainant, the accused took the amount through online payments, bank transfers and also in cash. After taking the money, the accused allegedly sent fake appointment letters showing selection to the post of UDC in the postal department. They also sent fake emails from India Post and even provided forged interview letters, joining orders, ID cards and transfer orders to make the fraud look genuine.
The complaint further says that the accused called the victims to Dak Bhawan in Delhi on the pretext of interviews and continued to mislead them for several months. When the victims asked for their jobs or money back, the accused allegedly demanded more money from them. Later, when the complainant mounted pressure for a refund, he was allegedly threatened with dire consequences and warned not to approach the police.
The student claimed that he had earlier submitted a complaint to the district magistrate and police, but no action was taken. Thereafter, they had to approach the court to have an FIR registered.
