A total of 146 public grievances were registered during Samadhan Diwas organised by the Dehradun district administration on Monday. Most of the complaints related to land disputes, encroachment, land records, caste certificates and financial assistance.

During the programme, Dehradun district magistrate Ashish Chauhan directed officials to provide free treatment to four seriously ill children under the National Child Health Programme (RBSK). The children are suffering from serious ailments, including brain tumours, kidney disease and intestinal disorders. Chauhan instructed the officials concerned to ensure that all four children receive complete treatment free of cost, providing relief to their families.

A resident of Chharba village alleged that government land had been illegally sold and he had received death threats after raising the issue. Officials directed the police and revenue department to take immediate action.

Cases of elderly abuse were also highlighted during the programme. Two senior citizens complained that they had been beaten and thrown out of their homes by family members who had occupied their properties. The administration ordered an inquiry and directed officials to provide justice to the elderly men.

Several other issues, including road repairs, school fees, water bill waivers and housing assistance under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, were also raised by residents.

The additional district magistrate K K Mishra said that the administration is committed to resolving public grievances in a transparent and time-bound manner. He instructed all departments to take quick action on complaints received during the programme.
