Doon Excise officer suspended over laxity and other charges

PIONEER NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun
Acting on the instructions of the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Excise department commissioner Anuradha Pal suspended the Dehradun district Excise officer, K P Singh with immediate effect. This action followed allegations of laxity, presenting incorrect facts and misleading the officials regarding the shifting of liquor shops in Dehradun.
The district administration had directed the Excise department on May 13 to shift six liquor shops in the meeting of the district road safety committee held on March 27 to mitigate traffic congestion in many of the city’s roads. The department had been asked to shift these shops in a week and submit a report by May 22. Despite the order, no concrete action had been taken within the stipulated timeline.
