Farmers conference to be organised at Pantnagar to mark 25th anniversary of State: Joshi

Agriculture minister and Udham Singh Nagar District in-Charge Ganesh Joshi on Wednesday reviewed the preparations for the grand farmers’ conference scheduled to be held at Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar, on November 7. The event marks the 25th anniversary of the formation of the State of Uttarakhand.
During an on-site inspection of the university, Joshi gathered detailed information about the ongoing arrangements for the venue. He instructed officials to ensure that all preparations are completed in a timely and high-quality manner. Joshi emphasised that this conference represents a historic opportunity for the farmers of the State, where they will receive information about new technologies, innovations and schemes in agriculture.
The farmers’ conference is being organised in collaboration with the departments of agriculture, horticulture, rural development, fisheries, dairy, cooperatives, animal husbandry, market council and Pantnagar University. Joshi said that chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt and a large number of farmers are expected to participate in the event.
He further added that special arrangements are being made to ensure a grand occasion, with an expected attendance of approximately 25,000 to 30,000 participants. A large exhibition featuring agricultural and related departments will also take place, providing farmers with insights into advanced agricultural techniques, modern equipment, seeds and government schemes.
Joshi stated that the State government is continuously working towards the goal of doubling farmers’ income. He urged officials to collaborate in making this conference both useful and inspiring for farmers. Additionally, he instructed officials to pay special attention to traffic management, drinking water, sanitation, seating arrangements, parking and security to ensure that participants do not face any inconveniences.
