Four-day international kickboxing championship concludes

The four-day fifth international open WAKO kickboxing championship concluded in New Delhi on Sunday. Along with Indian Kickboxing Federation chairman Santosh Agrawal and World Kickboxing Federation chairman Roy Baker, Indian Kickboxing Federation national vice president and Shri Venkateshwara University pro chancellor Rajeev Tyagi was also present on the occasion. According to Tyagi, more than 3,000 participants from 25 nations participated in various categories in the championship. India topped the tally with 22 gold medals, 32 silvers and 44 bronze medals.
He expressed happiness at the Sports ministry including kickboxing in the Khelo India campaign, adding that the sport is going to be included in the Olympics soon. Tyagi said that WAKO Kickboxing Federation national chairman Santosh Agrawal has done commendable work for the sport in India. Kickboxing national games will be organised at the Shri Venkateshwara University during April under the guidance of the group’s founding chairman Sudhir Giri, he added.
