Ganesh Joshi meets Defence minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi

The Soldier Welfare minister Ganesh Joshi met the Union Defence minister Rajnath Singh in New Delhi on Saturday.  In the meeting, he informed Singh about various welfare schemes being undertaken by the State government and hold him about the progress of the Sainnya Dham being constructed in Dehradun. 

Joshi expressed gratitude to the union minister for the decision of the government to increase the destitute grant to Rs 8,000 from existing Rs 4,000, education grant to Rs 2,000 from Rs 1,000 and marriage grant to Rs one lakh from Rs 50,000. The union minister praised the welfare schemes of the Uttarakhand government for the ex-servicemen and their families and assured every possible help from the Ministry of Defence.

Joshi said that Uttarakhand is a Veer Bhoomi and the contribution of the youth of the State in the service of the nation is exemplary. He said that the Uttarakhand government is committed for the welfare of the armed forces veterans, their families and the families of the martyrs.
