Uttarakhand Ayurved University has filed a complaint at the Cyber Crime Police Station in Dehradun, alleging that a fake email ID had been created in the name of the university. According to the university administration, an email was made by an unknown person and was being misused. The university sources said that emails had been sent from this fake ID to several people on November 29, 2025.
Sources further said that the matter is serious as the fake email was created in the name of the institution, which is an autonomous body of the Uttarakhand Government. The vice-chancellor and registrar had authorised the deputy registrar, Sanjeev Kumar Pandey to lodge an FIR on behalf of the university. Screenshots of the emails sent from the fake ID have also been submitted as evidence to the police.
Based on the complaint, the Cyber Crime Police registered a Zero FIR. Police officials said that the case has been registered and they have started an investigation.
