Depts directed to take prior permission for recruitment on posts manned by UPNL workers

In a relief to the thousands of the workers of the Uttarakhand Purva Sainik Kalyan Nigam Limited (UPNL) deployed in different departments, the State government has directed all the departments that they should get prior approval from the Personnel, Justice and Finance departments before sending recruitment requisitions for the contractual posts on which the UPNL workers are deployed. The additional secretary Personnel and Vigilance, Girdhari Singh Rawat issued necessary directions in this regard on Wednesday.

In a letter to all the principal secretaries, secretaries, divisional commissioners, heads of departments and district magistrates, Rawat said that all such posts where UPNL workers are deployed in accordance with the government order (GO) dated February 3, 2026, the prior permission should be taken from the Personnel, Finance and Justice departments before sending recruitment requisitions to the service commissions/ recruitment agency. Rawat asked all the department heads to ensure that the order should be strictly followed.
