ITBP personnel donate blood, marking  World Brotherhood Day

The 34th Battalion of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) organised a blood donation campaign in collaboration with the social service wing of the Brahma Kumaris and the Red Cross Society under the aegis of Dr Susheela Tiwari Government Hospital, Haldwani. The organisers of the campaign said that it was organised to mark the upcoming World Brotherhood Day slated on September 11 which celebrates Swami Vivekananda’s historic Chicago address focused on universal brotherhood.

During the drive, 15 ITBP personnel donated blood.  

Speaking on the occasion, the Commandant Anil Singh Bisht of the 34th Battalion ITBP said that their force is not only committed to safeguarding the nation but also understands its humanitarian duties towards society. “Through blood donation, we give tangible shape to the values of universal brotherhood, affirming that service is the truest form of religion,” he added.
