Make app to enable smooth Kanwad Yatra this year: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed the administration to create a Kanwad Yatra Sewa App for the smooth conduction of the Kanwad Yatra this year.
The CM gave the order while chairing a meeting held to review preparations for the Kanwad Yatra -2025 in Haridwar on Thursday.
In the meeting, the CM said that all the details of Kanwadias should be provided for the App. He expressed confidence that the application will help the administration in making the Kanwad Yatra safe and accessible.
He directed the district administration, Police and other departments to work in coordination and complete all the preparations. Dhami said that the administration should coordinate with the states from where the maximum number of Kanwadias arrive and share real time data and other inputs needed for security and safety purposes.
Terming the Kanwad Yatra as a trial for next year’s Kumbh, the CM said that the experience will also help during Kumbh.
He directed that there should be no encroachment on Kanwad Yatra route and all the eateries and hotels on the Yatra route should compulsorily paste their food licences and rate lists on counters. He added that all the hotels should compulsorily display the names of the owners. The SOP for liquor and meat should also be followed strictly.
Dhami said that the Kanwad Yatra should give a message of clean and green Yatra this year and focus should be on maintaining sanitation during Yatra. He said cleaning of the Yatra route should be done on an hourly basis. Special vehicles for waste disposal and mobile toilets should be stationed at Haridwar, Roorkee and Rishikesh. He said that availability of health facilities, ambulances and medical staff should also be ensured on every two to three km on the Yatra route.
The CM also directed for setting up night shelters and tent cities for stay of Kanwadias and arrangement of water tankers, RO and water ATMs should be made for the Yatris.
Dhami directed that special arrangements of security should be made and regular monitoring with CCTV and drones should be done during the Yatra. A traffic plan based on GIS mapping should be prepared for the Yatra and a traffic monitoring system should be developed. He added that special preparation should be made to meet the challenge of natural disasters.
Haridwar district magistrate Mayur Dixit said that the Kanwad Mela will be organised between July 11 to 23 this year and the entire area has been divided into 16 super zones, 37 zones and 134 sectors.
The meeting was also attended by Rajya Sabha MP Kalpana Saini, MLAs Madan Kaushik, Adesh Chauhan, Mamta Rakesh and the officers of administration, police and other departments.
