Mussoorie- Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) has removed illegal plotting spread over about 20 bighas of land in Doiwala. The land was being developed without any legal approval, the MDDA officials said.

According to the information received, MDDA had launched the drive after finding that roads were being cut and plots were being divided in Sergarh Majri Grant in Doiwala without permission. Officials said that no approved map or layout had been taken from the authority.

Speaking of the drive, MDDA vice- chairman, Banshidhar Tiwari said that they would continue to demolish unauthorised plotting. “Unauthorised colonies create problems for people in the future aside from harming planned development,” he said.  The secretary, MDDA, Mohan Singh Barnia appealed to the people to check all legal documents before buying land or plot. He warned people against investing in colonies developed without MDDA approval.
