DM & SSP direct improvements at Mansa Devi & Chandi Devi

Haridwar district magistrate Mayur Dixit and senior superintendent of police Pramendra Singh Dobal inspected the routes to Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temples here on Monday. They directed the officials concerned to remove encroachments on the route and improve facilities.
Acting on the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the DM and SSP conducted the site inspections in order to ascertain how to improve facilities for devotees visiting Mansa Devi and Chandi Devi temples. They walked from Mansa Devi to Har Ki Paidi and pointed out various measures which need to be taken.
During their inspection, the DM and SSP directed officials to remove encroachments, tighten loose overhead power cables, focus on crowd control, drinking water, toilets and other basic facilities. Dixit said that the Darshan system should be scientific based on the number of pilgrims and this should also be controlled to prevent unnecessary crowding.
He directed that the Mandir Samiti, Forest department, Police and district administration officials should hold a joint meeting to prepare a proper plan considering all these aspects. Artificial Intelligence based cameras should be installed to count the people and help in crowd control, he suggested.
