Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi visited 75-year-old Kaushalya Devi, who had been mauled by pet Rottweilers of her neighbour, at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital where she is being treated. He talked to the senior doctors and enquired about her health after the surgery she had undergone. Notably, the septuagenarian had several stitches done on her head, arms and legs. Besides, several of her bones had broken in the canine attack.
The hospital’s medical superintendent Dr Ajay Pandita informed that a team of senior doctors is engaged in the treatment of the elderly woman. “The surgery was conducted on her on Monday under the supervision of the orthopaedics department’s associate professor, Dr Yash Mohan Lal,” he added.
Dr Lal said that they have been exercising extra medical caution in the treatment. “Such cases pose a risk of infection spreading. That is why, we are taking extreme care,” he said, adding that a team of doctors from departments of ENT, orthopaedics and plastic surgery are jointly treating her.
