Monsoon session of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha adjourned sine-die

The monsoon session of Vidhan Sabha was adjourned sine die by speaker Ritu Khanduri on Wednesday. The house passed the supplementary budget of Rs 5,315 crore and eight bills on the day. The proceedings of the started on stormy note on second consecutive day with the opposition Congress members persisting with their demand for discussion on law and order situation in the State under rule 310. The Congress members marched to the well of the house as soon as the proceedings of the day started.
The leader of opposition Yashpal Arya said that the law and order situation in the State is in very bad condition and demanded discussion on it under rule 310. The speaker Ritu Khanduri asked the Congress members to let the question hour begin but her appeal was not heeded. Amid pandemonium the speaker adjourned the house till 11:20 AM and later extended it till 12:20 PM. Despite efforts by the speaker the question hour could not be taken up in the house for the second consecutive day.
Amid huge pandemonium by the opposition members who continued to occupy the well of the house, the speaker continued with the normal business of the day.
The house passed the supplementary budget of Rs 5,315 crore (Rs 2,152.37 crore under revenue head and Rs 3,163.02 crore under capital account head) with a voice vote. The members also passed Uttarakhand Panchayati Raj amendment bill 2005, Uttarakhand Minority Education Institutions bill 2025, The Uttarakhand Private Universities (amendment) bill 2025, Uttarakhand Democracy Fighters Honour bill 2025, Uttarakhand Witness Protection (repeal) bill 2025, The Badrinath and Kedarnath Temple act 1939 (amendment) bill 2025 and The Uttarakhand Freedom of Religion (amendment) bill -2025 by voice vote.
