The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) carried out demolition drives against illegal plotting in Dehradun on Tuesday. The MDDA vice chairman Banshidhar Tiwari said that the authority will not allow any construction or plotting without approval in its jurisdiction. He informed that the MDDA team demolished two large illegal plotting sites at Shimla Bypass and Selaqui.

The team also cleared about 15 bighas of land under development by Naveen Gupta at Sherpur, Shimla Bypass. In another action, around 10 bighas of land near Indian Public School, Raja Road, Selaqui, developed by Rinku Chaudhary, were demolished. Tiwari said that illegal plotting violates the law and causes problems for residents in the future.

He added that the MDDA’s focus is on promoting planned development and providing safe residential areas. He said that the authority is maintaining regular surveillance and will continue strict action against such activities. The MDDA has appealed to the public to verify the legal status and obtain approval from the authority before purchasing land.
