No person in the nation takes Congress leader Rahul Gandhi seriously. Stating this while referring to the leader of opposition in the Lok Sabha during an interaction with Bharatiya Janata Party workers here on Friday, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Gandhi is himself unsure of what he will say next. “The Congress party has been trying for years to establish Rahul Gandhi but till date he has not been able to win the trust of the public. The statements he made regarding the armed forces and soldiers are unfortunate. People of Uttarakhand where majority of the families have a member in the armed forces, will not take such a person seriously who questions the army’s surgical strike and operations, and seeks proof of the courage and achievements of the soldiers,” Dhami said.

The CM further said that Gandhi did not limit himself to criticising the Prime Minister, government and political parties, but is also raising questions at the army’s and nation’s prestige.

Such statements dent the nation’s image at the international level. Remembering the late Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Dhami recalled that inappropriate language had been used for him too, which the people of India cannot forget.

Talking about Kainchi Dhami, the CM said that the bypass is under construction. With thousands of people visiting Kainchi Dham, the government is focusing on ensuring that nobody faces inconvenience in paying obeisance at this shrine. Along with this, all religious sites in the State are being developed so that devotees do not face any problems at such locations, he added. The CM also discussed various local and organisational issues with the party workers on the occasion. Nainital MLA Sarita Arya and other office bearers of the party were also present during the interaction.
