Fortnight-long online training on fertiliser commences

Online training on ‘Fertiliser and Agricultural Chemical Management’ is being organised by Directorate of Extension Education, SAMETI-Uttarakhand from September 1-15. Members/ secretaries of a total of 34 primary cooperative societies are participating in the training.

While inaugurating the online training, the director, Extension Education and SAMETI, Jitendra Kwatra said that balanced use of fertilisers and agricultural protection chemicals would prove to be the basis of a safe life. “Balanced fertiliser use will not only reduce the cost of production, but improve the quality of soil, get high quality products and bring unexpected improvement in environmental protection,” he said and urged the participants to recommend fertiliser use to farmers only on the basis of the recommendation of the soil health card.

The SAMETI coordinator, B D Singh said that as per the guidelines of the Union Ministry of Cooperation, all the cooperative societies of the district would have to be developed as Prime Minister Kisan Samridhi Kendra, adding that training programme is mandatory for the societies for fertiliser license.
