Nainital town is all set to be connected to the revered Kainchi Dham by ropeway and on completion of this work, the devotees will have darshan without getting stuck on roads due to traffic jams.
Informing this, the district magistrate, Vandana Singh said that the state of the art project the proposal of which had been sent by the district tourism department to the State government would be linked to PM’s ‘Parvatmala Yojana’. At present, the distance to reach Kainchi Dham from Nainital is about 17 km by road. But during the summer holidays, peak tourist season and the annual Kainchi Dham fair, the stretch often comes under severe traffic congestions, making the journey extremely uncomfortable and tiring.
The DM further said that this ropeway would start from the Snow View Point and reach the shrine directly. “It remained a long-standing demand of the hoteliers and those associated with tourism trade,” she added.
The president of Nainital Hotel Association, Digvijay Singh Bisht hailed the project
