Eight new dengue cases reported in Dehradun

The cumulative number of dengue cases reported in Dehradun district has reached 492, following the reporting of eight new cases on Saturday.

The Dehradun chief medical officer Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma said that among these cases, three were reported at Government Doon Medical College (GDMC) Hospital, three at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh, one at Graphic Era Hospital and one at Kailash Hospital. Among the cumulative total of 492 dengue cases, 236 are confirmed cases from Dehradun, while 256 cases originate from other districts and States.

Sharma said that presently, there are 27 patients undergoing treatment for dengue- eight at Himalayan Hospital, six at Graphic Era Hospital, five at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, four at AIIMS Rishikesh, three at GDMC and one at Kailash Hospital. On Saturday, health officials gathered 322 dengue samples, leading to a cumulative total of 27,018 samples tested thus far.

Additionally, on Saturday, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) and volunteers from the Health department conducted 11,583 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 160 homes. To date, the Health department has conducted a total of 18,02879 household surveys, with 17,504 showing positive results. On Saturday, ASHA workers and volunteers inspected 64,256 containers and discovered that 183 of them contained larvae.
