Dehradun police have traced three minor boys on Wednesday who had gone missing from the Cantonment area and reunited them with their families. Their family members looked elated on getting their near ones back home. The three children, aged 17, 16 and 13 years, had left their home on January 8 without informing their families. When they did not return, a family member lodged a missing complaint at Cantt police station on January 9, after which the police immediately registered a case and started the search.
Taking the matter seriously, the senior superintendent of police, Dehradun, Ajai Singh formed a special police team to trace the children. During the investigation, the police found that the boys had travelled from Dehradun to Haridwar by train. A police team reached Haridwar and checked CCTV footage at the railway station, bus stand, Har ki Paudi and nearby places. Investigation revealed that the boys had boarded a bus going towards Delhi.
Acting quickly, the police followed the route and traced the children in Baghpat district of Uttar Pradesh. During questioning, the boys are said to have told the police that they had gone to Haridwar for a trip without informing their families. While returning, they had mistakenly boarded the wrong bus and reached Bhaghpat instead of Dehradun, they are understood to have told police.
