Demanding a hike in salary and work for 364 days a year, the Prantiya Rakshak Dal (PRD) personnel marched towards the Secretariat on Thursday. But they were stopped midway at the police barricade. Notably, they are provided a daily allowance for their work.
The state secretary of the PRD union, Sanjay Singh Pawar said that the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced in 2021 that PRD personnel would be given 300 days of employment, but no action has been taken on this so far. Pawar alleged that the officials at the directorate level are not cooperating with the government.
He further said that when the CM had made the announcement, a letter was issued from the directorate asking departments to provide the number of PRD personnel. However, from 2021 to 2023, no department sent this data.
Pawar further said that the State government should think about the unemployed youth living under extreme stress . “They deserve better treatment from the government and the administration,” he added. At the same time, he warned that if the government does not meet their demands, they will hit the roads in protest in larger numbers in the future
