Residents submit 60 complaints at multi-purpose camp

The residents presented 60 complaints, with most being resolved immediately, during a multi-purpose camp held here on Thursday chaired by the sub-divisional magistrate Aparna Dhaundiyal at Government Inter College Thano under the “Jan Jan ki Sarkar, Jan Jan ka Dwar” programme. The Agriculture department distributed a flour mill and two power feeders with an 80 per cent subsidy. Additionally, the Women’s Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) department provided the Chief Minister’s Mahalaxmi kits to five women. During the camp, various departments informed villagers about public welfare schemes.

Dhaundiyal urged the departmental officials to treat the complaints received at the camp with utmost seriousness and ensure prompt resolutions as a priority. She emphasised that holistic village development is achievable only by addressing the problems faced by the villagers. 

According to the officials, villagers from Thano Nyaya Panchayat and others presented problems related to land, roads, drinking water, pensions and electricity. The camp received two complaints from the District Panchayat, 10 from the Revenue department, 11 from the Electricity department, eight from the Drinking Water department, six from the Public Works department and two from the Telecommunications department, among others.

The officers said that during the multi-purpose camp, the Health department conducted health check-ups for 437 people using allopathic methods and for 60 people using homeopathic methods, distributing free medicines as well. Additionally, benefits from various public welfare schemes were provided to 35 beneficiaries from the Agriculture department, 32 from the Horticulture department, 30 from the Dairy department, 20 from the Animal Husbandry department, 15 from the Cooperative department and others from some other departments, according to the officials.
