The Health department conducted a surprise inspection in Kichha, in which five clinics were found operating without proper registration. This inspection was carried out on the instructions of the chief medical officer, Dr Sanjeev Kumar Goswami.
According to the officials, a team from the Health department, led by the nodal officer, Dr Sudhir Gupta, examined the clinics in the Kichha area. The action was taken under the Clinical Establishments Act, Gupta said.
Officials further stated that providing medical services without registration is against the rules. The CMO Goswami emphasised that the campaign against clinics operating sans registration and failing to meet prescribed standards would continue in the district. “Compromising people’s health will not be tolerated under any circumstances,” he noted and added that appropriate actions are being taken against all five clinics in accordance with the regulations.
