Sherwood College became the overall champion of the Bhuwan Chandra Sah Memorial Inter-School Table Tennis Tournament. Trophies were then presented to the winning team in the competition held at CRST Inter College. Justice Alok Mehra who was the chief guest said that sports is a powerful medium to curb the growing tendency of children to watch mobile phones, adding that sports are essential along with study.
The final of the boys’ junior competition was held between Tejas St Joseph College, Nainital and Shorya Aurora St Joseph College, Nainital, in which Tejas was the winner. In the boys senior category, Shridansh Gangwar Sherwood College, Nainital, and Madhav Sherwood College, Nainital, were the winners.
In the girls’ doubles category, Adhya Singh of Sherwood College, Nainital; Shrishti Doggie of Sherwood College, Nainital; Ronika Goyal of Sherwood College, Nainital and Himakshi Mann of Sherwood College, Nainital won. In boys’ doubles, Madhav Sherwood College, Nainital; Shridansh Gangwan Sherwood College, Nainital; Sandarbha St Joseph’s College, Nainital and Siddharth St Joseph’s College, Nainital won. In the girls’ category, Adhya Singh Sherwood College, Nainital, and Manya Rautela Sherwood College, Nainital, were the winners. Sherwood College, Nainital, won the overall competition.
