Six new dengue cases reported in Dehradun

Six new cases of dengue were reported in Dehradun district on Thursday. Stating this, the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Dehradun, Dr Manoj Kumar Sharma stated that out of the six individuals who tested positive for dengue on Thursday, three were admitted to Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, two to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and one to Himalayan Hospital. This increase brings the cumulative number of confirmed dengue cases in the district to 174, with 89 cases from Dehradun and 85 from other districts or States.

Sharma further stated that there are currently 21 active dengue patients receiving treatment: twelve at Shri Mahant Indiresh Hospital, four at Himalayan Hospital, two at GDMC hospital, one at Graphic Era Hospital, one at AIIMS and one being cared for at home. On Thursday, health officials collected a total of 181 dengue samples, which increases the cumulative number of samples tested to 10,159.

Additionally, Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA’s) and Health department volunteers conducted 10,215 household surveys to check for mosquito larvae. During these surveys, larvae were found in 160 homes. To date, the surveys conducted by the Health department revealed 5,216 homes showing positive findings of larvae. The ASHA workers and volunteers also examined 76,626 containers and discovered that 234 of them contained larvae on Thursday. Overall, they have inspected 68,18,968 containers, with 6,889 testing positive for larvae.
