PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE /Dehradun

The Special Task Force (STF) has started an investigation into the leak of the Annual Confidential Report (ACR) of SHO Kundan Singh Rautela who was suspended in the Kashipur farmer Sukhwant Singh suicide case. The ACR, which contained adverse remarks against the officer, has gone viral on social media, raising serious concerns within the police department. According to police officials, Rautela had earlier been posted in Bageshwar, where the then superintendent of police had given him an adverse entry in his ACR and recommended his transfer from the district. The ACR is a confidential document and can only be accessed by authorized officers through a secure digital system.

Director General of Police Deepam Seth said that the leaking of such a confidential report on social media is a very serious and sensitive matter. He added that unauthorised access to the ACR is not possible, so a technical investigation is needed to find out how the document was leaked. Following the DGP’s orders, STF SSP Navneet Bhullar has directed the STF Kumaon unit to conduct a detailed investigation. The STF has started examining all facts and technical aspects related to the leak to identify those responsible.
