Be prepared to act- heavy rain with very intense spells forecast in Dehradun & Bageshwar

A day after parts of the State including Dehradun city witnessed heavy rains which caused temporary disruption, the State Meteorological Centre has issued an orange warning (be prepared to take action) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain/thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun and Bageshwar districts on Tuesday. The centre has also issued a yellow alert (watch) regarding the probability of heavy rain/thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain likely to occur at isolated places in Rudraprayag, Uttarkashi and Nainital districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State. Gusty winds (30-40 kmph) are likely to blow at isolated places in districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at many places in all districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be intense/heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 33 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded on Monday were 32.8 degrees Celsius and 24.3 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 34.2 degrees Celsius and 24.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.7 degrees Celsius and 14.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.2 degrees Celsius and 17.5 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
