PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun

The members of the Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh (UBS) continued their demonstration on Tuesday against the alleged leak of the exam paper during the examination conducted by the Uttarakhand Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UKSSSC). The UBS unemployed members began their protest on Monday at Parade Ground, calling for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) inquiry into the paper leak, with their efforts continuing through Monday night and into Tuesday.

During the protest on Tuesday, they reiterated their determination to continue till the State government addresses their demands in the case. Many youngsters and activists also gathered at Parade Ground under the banner of the UBS, echoing similar grievances.

Speaking on the occasion, the patron of the UBS and the president of the Uttarakhand Swabhiman Morcha, Bobby Panwar said that stated that the protest, which began on Monday, will continue till the government provides an assurance letter and meets their demands. He emphasised that their demands include a CBI investigation into the paper leak case and the reconducting of the examination.

If these demands are not met within the next couple of days, they plan to escalate their protest. Panwar questioned the arrest of an assistant professor which police have accused of receiving a leaked question paper. He claimed the professor had exposed the leak of the question Paper. Panwar argued that blaming and punishing the professor is unfair, given her intentions to alert society about the exam irregularities.

Additionally, the vice president of UBS Suresh Singh has voiced similar concerns and has guaranteed that the protest will persist until the government meets their demands, which include a CBI investigation, a reevaluation of exam papers and the resignation of the chairman of UKSSSC.

At the time of filing this report, students and unemployed members of UBS continued to stage their protest at the Parade Ground.
