USCW chairperson proposes shifting of commission’s office

The Uttarakhand State Commission for Women (USCW) chairperson Kusum Kandwal has submitted a proposal to chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for shifting of the commission’s office in a central location within the city. The proposal was submitted by Kandwal during her recent meeting with CM.
Kandwal said that the CM instructed the officials concerned to expedite the process of opening the office in the city.
She said that thorough discussions took place during this occasion concerning women’s safety, empowerment and the upcoming programmes of the commission. CM also received an overview of the proposed initiatives from the USCW and he offered valuable advice to enhance effective actions for the benefit of women, Kandwal said. Kandwal emphasised that this conversation marks a significant advancement toward the rights, safety and empowerment of women.
Additionally, Kandwal said that she also informed CM on the activities of the commission and the suggested programmes, stating, “Protecting the safety and dignity of women is both a constitutional duty and a social obligation. The USCW and the government are consistently engaged in a sensitive and proactive approach to safeguarding women’s rights.”
She also said that with governmental support, the commission is ensuring swift and effective responses in cases of harassment, domestic violence and cybercrime, thus facilitating prompt justice.
