Vidushi Nishank among recipients of first Delhi Gaurav Samman- 2026

Uttarakhand’s Vidushi Nishank was presented the first Delhi Gaurav Samman-2026 for her contribution in the field of education, justice, literature and social service. The award was presented at the maiden event organised jointly by Sanskriti Yuva Sansthan and Indian Global Foundation at New Delhi. Union minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Rajasthan’s former governor Kalraj Mishra, Uttarakhand’s former chief minister and her father Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ and Sanskriti Yuva Sansthan head Suresh Mishra presented the award.
An advocate by profession, Vidushi Nishank is also the director of India’s first Lekhak Gaon in Dehradun while also being active in the social sphere. Through the Kusum Kanta Foundation formed in the memory of her late mother, she is also involved in works related to education, women empowerment and social work. Having gained an LLM degree from the University of Cambridge, she was also a commonwealth scholar for the University of Oxford. Noted classical dancer Shovana Narayan, film and media personality Sandeep Marwah, lieutenant colonel Manoj Sinha, Swami Prem Anvesh and Swati Garg were also among those who were presented the award on the occasion.
