A woman has filed a complaint at Rajpur police station alleging fraud in a land deal and being cheated of lakhs of rupees in the city. The complainant, Rajni Chaddha has accused Kailash Bhandari of not returning Rs 27 lakh, which she had paid for the purchase of a plot.
In her complaint, Chaddha has stated that about five years ago she paid Rs 30 lakh to Bhandari for the purchase of a plot. She alleged that she was shown land in the Kaale Gaon area and was told that the plot would be transferred to her name. Photographs were also taken at the site during the deal process.
Later, she claimed to have discovered that the land was linked to Golden Forest and was not legally available for sale. She said that despite paying a large amount, she neither received possession of the plot nor got her money back.
Chaddha further averred that she lodged a complaint at Rajpur police station in January 2024. According to her, a settlement of Rs 32 lakh was agreed in the matter. However, she claimed that Rs 27 lakh is still unpaid even after two years.
She also alleged that whenever she goes to demand her money, she faces abuse and threats from family members of the accused. Police have received the complaint and inquiry is expected in the matter.
