To ensure fool-proof security during the ongoing Kanwad Yatra, Haridwar police are now on the high alert. Meanwhile, lakhs of devotees of Lord Shiva keep streaming into the holy town to collect water from revered Ganga. The SSP, Haridwar said that police teams have been deployed at the ghats, temples, markets and roads across the district in adequate strength. “Besides, drone technology along with CCTV cameras is being used in full to ensure security of the yatris,” he added. This aside, intelligence units have been deployed along the yatra route for enhanced security. The police are particularly on their toes, round the clock, at the most crowded spots along the yatra stretch. Sniffer dogs are being roped in, too, to detect suspicious activities.
