Health Dept to recruit 3,624 staff nurses & ANMs soon: Rawat

The State Health department would soon recruit 3,624 staff nurses and Auxiliary Nursing Midwifery (ANM) workers for the health services. The Health and Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat chaired a review meeting with the officers of the Health department at the health directorate on Friday.
Rawat said that he has given orders to the officers of the department to fill the vacant posts of the staff nurses and the ANMs in the medical colleges and hospitals of the State. A total of 2,800 posts of staff nurses and the 824 posts of ANMs are lying vacant in the State. He said that these posts would be filled by the process of the year-wise seniority of completing the qualifying degree. The minister added that the process of the recruitment of 664 Community Health Officers (CHOs) would be completed soon.
The minister said that in view of the tough geographical conditions orders have been given to ensure that the facility of MRI, CT scan, X ray and ultrasound are available in all medical colleges and district hospitals and trained technical staff to operate them are recruited so that the patients are given proper treatment at local level. Rawat said that the participation of public representatives in the committees for providing help to the poor patients and better management of the hospitals would be done. MLAs, block Pramukhs, district Panchayat members and local representatives would be nominated in these committees and officers have been directed to make necessary amendments in the provisions for it, he said.
In the meeting the minister directed the senior officers of the department, both at the government and directorate levels to tour one district each and conduct inspection of the health services in the allotted districts and submit a report to the director general of health services within two months. He also directed that a proposal for restructuring of the para medical, technical and MTS employees as per the parameters of IPHS should be submitted for presentation to the cabinet for approval. The minister emphasised that the officers should review the blood donation programmes under the Raktdam Amrit Mahotsav and ensure that the maximum number of the donors are registered. Rawat was informed that a total of 41,348 donors have so far registered under the campaign which is 83 per cent of the target. The department would soon organise blood donation camps in the universities and colleges.
The meeting was attended by the secretary in-charge R Rajesh Kumar, chairman of the Uttarakhand Medical Services Recruitment Board (UMSRB) Dr D S Rawat, vice chancellor of the Medical Education University Hem Chandra, additional secretary Garima Raukli, director general in-charge Dr Vinita Shah, director of National Health Mission (NHM) Dr Saroj Naithani and others.
