Patwari paper leak to be probed by SIT monitored by HC judge

Saturday, 11 February 2023 | PNS | DEHRADUN

The State government has decided that the Patwari recruitment exam leak will be probed by a special investigation team (SIT) which will be monitored by a High Court judge. This and other decisions have been taken by the State government after considering the demands of the Uttarakhand Berozgar Sangh (UBS).

Officials stated that the demand for CBI inquiry has been rejected by the Uttarakhand High Court which has already stated that recruitment test leaks are being investigated properly. Regarding the demand of the protesting youth that the Patwari recruitment question paper should be changed, the Uttarakhand Public Service Commission has already clarified that the question paper of the test to be held on February 12 will be prepared afresh.

The examination controller of the UKPSC has been removed. Further, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has granted his approval to an anti-copying ordinance. According to the government, with various important demands of the unemployed youth being acted upon, there is no point in continuing the agitation. It is pertinent to mention here that various opposition parties have also lent their support to the agitation being held under the banner of the UBS. Though the government has taken some steps to alleviate the situation, sources state that the protest may continue on Saturday.
