Considering the continuous increase in dengue cases, the Dehradun district magistrate Sonika deployed officials from the health department, the Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) and district administration in the 24 wards of the city from where most of the dengue cases are being reported.
The allotted areas will be monitored daily by the district level officers and the DM will be informed about the situation daily. She said that all the information provided by respective officers will be compiled daily by the district team at the district dengue control room. She said that under the dengue control campaign of the district, every Asha worker, community health officer, sanitary supervisor and dengue volunteer will take anti-dengue preventive measures in a minimum of 50 houses in their designated areas every day.
The teams under this campaign will visit the houses and clear the stagnant water from the places where dengue causing larvae can potentially grow besides raising awareness among locals. The sanitation teams must spray larvicide in those places that cannot be cleaned properly. Sonika said that the teams should also distribute relevant pamphlets and make efforts to raise awareness via different mediums and activities regarding dengue.
