Rescue op on, CM made on-site inspection

In latest news from Uttarakhand, about 40 labourers were trapped as a part of an under-construction tunnel stretched between Silkyara and Dandalgaon along the Yamunotri national highway in Uttarkashi district collapsed. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami made an on- site inspection as rescue operations are underway to pull out the trapped labourers. CM assured that all-out efforts are being made by the government’s rescue personnel and those working for agencies to extricate the stranded labourers. Later, it was learnt from the control room at Sillkyara that communications had been finally established through wireless sets with the labourers stranded inside the collapsed tunnel. As they said they were hungry food stuffs were sent inside the tunnel through pipes laid down by the rescue personnel from NDRF and SDRF. Besides, drinking water and oxygen are also being sent through the pipe, informed the control room personnel.
