Rain & thunderstorms likely in six districts today

Temperatures remained high in various parts of the State on Sunday. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh districts along with the hilly areas of Dehradun district on Monday. Further, very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh and hilly areas of Dehradun district today. Surface winds are expected to be strong and gusty (30-40 kmph) over isolated places in the State. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the STate today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. Thunder cloud development is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperature are likely to be about 35 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 35.1 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.8 degrees Celsius and 18.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 23.5 degrees Celsius and 10.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.4 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
